Jonathan Ford was the father of one of our 13's Select players and a shining light in the NVVA community.
Dear NVVA Family,
We write to you with great sadness to let you know that Jonathan
Ford died in a car accident on February 2, 2010. He was the
father of one of our 13's Select players and a shining light
in the NVVA community. Jonathan took great pride and joy in
his daughter's volleyball participation, both for LYV and
NVVA. He volunteered countless hours when we painted and put
down floors at VVC. His willingness to help, his electrifying
smile and readiness to give anyone who needed a hug a big
hug will forever be appreciated. His passion for his family
was apparent to everyone and his support for Allison and the
team she played on special. Jonathan was a fixture at VVC,
watching his daughter play, as well as many volleyball matches
he simply enjoyed observing. Often he could be found pacing
on the line, calling in encouragement and enthusiastically
cheering good points and will forever be sorely missed.
NVVA is honoring Jonathan's life by establishing a memorial
fund in his name. We are going to be working with the family
on establishing a fitting and lasting tribute at VVC for this
very special man, husband and father. Jonathan is survived
by his wife, Jennifer, and four daughters, as well as a large
extended family.
If you wish to make a contribution in Jonathan's memory,
