Welcome to the official NVVA web site | The largest and most successful Volleyball Club in the Chesapeake Region

Parent Rep Responsibilities

Dear NVVA Parents,

On Behalf of the Board of Directors, welcome to another exciting year of NVVA Volleyball.

The purpose of this communication is to outline the role of the Team Parent Representative and to solicit volunteers to fill this important part of our organization.

Your main role would be to assist your teams head coach with communication between the coaching staff and parents, using the Parent Code of Conduct Agreement, and the Player Code of Conduct Agreement as guidelines. These documents provide definitions of what is expected of not only the players, but of the parents. If you see or hear of a problem, it is your job to open a dialogue with the coach, and/or the parent, to alleviate the issue. These rules and regulations are the result of many years of experience, and if followed, make the NVVA experience more enjoyable for all. The agreements can be found on the NVVA website under “member forms”.

Several other roles that you would fill as parent representative: Provide communication to and from the Board of Directors.

  • Coordinate scorekeeping and work team assignments.
  • Coordinate Club sponsored site tournament work (net setup, bench etc)
  • Provide travel information for away tournaments.
  • Provide Club sponsored communications to your team.
  • Any other minor tasks your Coach may deem appropriate.

You will be required to submit to a background check and be a USAV member. This cost will be paid for by the Club.

The Club will also cover the expense of the Parent Representative’s hotel room and airline tickets for travel tournaments.

This position will be selected from volunteers by your coach. If you are interested in taking your involvement with NVVA to the next level, please consider this responsibility and contact your coach.

I hope this communication provides a basic understanding of your potential role with NVVA.If you have any questions regarding this position please do not hesitate to contact me at the e-mail address below.

Thanks for your time.
