Scott Smith, Camp Director/Head Clinician

Scott is a recreation management major at Appalachian State University and is working, in cooperation
with NVVA, to conduct these summer camps prior to his graduation this December.
Scott is currently the
student assistant coach of the Division 1 Appalachian State University women's volleyball team. He has
spent four years as captain and coach of the ASU men’s club volleyball team, and is completing his first
season as head coach of the Appalachian Avalanche, a girls' 13-and-under USAV volleyball team. Scott
played for Metro VA’s Boys 18s during his junior and senior years in high school. He assisted with the
junior-varsity and varsity teams for Herndon High School from 2000-2003.
Scott plays competitively at the
A/AA level in grass and sand-doubles tournaments over the summer throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Summer Indoor Camp — Advanced Skills ($160)
Dates and Locations:

• Designed to incorporate advanced skills
• Gradual transition into more complex skills
• Specialized instructions for each position

Summer Outdoor "Doubles" Camp ($160)

Gender/Ages: Females and Males, Ages 14-Adult
Description:
• Designed to teach the basic skills utilized in the doubles game
• Overview of outdoor rules
• Focus on developing the all-around player
• Mini-tournament on final day
