About Us

The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association is one of the largest and most successful volleyball clubs in the northern Virginia region. Founded in 1997, NVVA has more than 1,400 youth volleyball members and 600 juniors’ members, as well as 64 girls and boys club teams with players in age groups from 12s to 18s. We are also the parent organization for Loudoun Youth Volleyball (LYV) and Northwest Youth Volleyball (NYV) with more than 1500 players.

NVVA strives to create an environment that promotes sportsmanship, leadership, and citizenship among its members.

A Legacy of SuccessNVVA sign In 2010, NVVA sent 5 teams to Nationals last year (three more teams than any other club in the area). One of our teams even finished 5th in the nation, while no other club in the area placed in the top 10.

Over the years, our teams have won many Regional Championships, National Qualifiers as well as East Coast Championships and South Atlantic Championships. Many have gone on to participate in USAV Nationals and NIT and other post season tournaments. The majority of our teams finish in the top half of their respective age groups with many in the top ten or higher every season. Every year NVVA players receive recognition at the District, Regional and State level as well as ‘All Met’ honors. Many of our players continue on to play at the collegiate level.

The Virginia Volleyball Center – home of NVVA
The Virginia Volleyball Center (VVC) is the largest volleyball-dedicated facility in the Washington metropolitan area. The VVC opened December 2009, and has more than 35,000 square feet under roof.

NVVA Club Philosophy

NVVA is the largest and most successful volleyball club in the Chesapeake region of USA Volleyball. USA Volleyball emphasizes ‘Athletes First, Winning Second,’ and the Northern Virginia Volleyball Association agrees with that philosophy. NVVA will ensure that the athletes receive excellent coaching, improve their volleyball skills, have the opportunity to compete in a healthy environment, and gain an appreciation for working as a part of a team and a club.

A New Direction

NVVA is taking volleyball to the next level in the DC Metro area. With the hiring of a new Technical and Recruiting Director and the acquisition of a seven court volleyball only facility NVVA has not only secured its place as the leader in Volleyball in the Chesapeake Region but has taken the steps necessary to ensure they play a primary role in the growth, development and competitive success of volleyball throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

NVVA is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization located in Sterling, VA.
