NVVA Vice President
Position
This is a volunteer position and is a member of the Executive Board which reports to the President of NVVA on such matters as its Virginia Volleyball Center, Associated Programs, Parent Council Program, Practice and tournament space allocations, marketing efforts, club surveys and pursues outreach programs to other associations and clubs.
Responsibilities
- Oversees Virginia Volleyball Center operations and staff, including budget, programs, schedules, policies, marketing, camps and interfacing with the Juniors divisions and leagues
- Provides guidance to the Associated Programs to insure that key issues are addressed and supports proposals and recommendations to be made to the NVVA Board of Directors
- Oversees and provides guidance to the Parent Council Program and insures key issues, including education, innovative programs and conflict resolution. Handles such personnel issues as:
- Resolve parent concerns that are not satisfied by the Parent Representative, Coach, Division Director, Juniors Director or Parent Council Director
- Resolve coach issues not satisfied at the Program Director level
- Suspend personnel below the Program Director level, for cause or not cause
- Oversees implementation of a marketing plan to publicize NVVA programs to the community
- Assists Senior Vice President in fundraising efforts
- Oversees NVVA coordination of volunteer effort
- Pursues partnerships and integrations with other clubs and associations
- Stay within the approved budget unless approved by the President or the Board of Directors
- Secures and signs contracts for volleyball court space sufficient to meet program needs for practice, hosting tournaments and conducting tryouts
- Oversees surveys performed to evaluate club performance and the quality of programs offered
- Provides an annual report to the Board of Directors on facility status, costs, and future strategies.
- Strategic work to include a 5-year plan, organizational structure and role clarity documentation
- Participates in Board of Directors meetings at least three times per year and Executive Board meetings as called
- Participates in community efforts to promote NVVA activities
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have held an executive position for at least five years in which candidate managed departmental functions and assignments
- Small business experience is advantageous
- Has knowledge of computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Must be proficient at large scale planning projects and have knowledge of fundraising projects
- Experience with large scale facility use and facility contracts
- People skills and outreach experience
