Pedro Paulo “Pepê” Costa played professional beach volleyball in Brazil for four years and has more than 18 years coaching experience. Coach Costa has coached for upper-level teams in Brazil, Paraguay, and Qatar. He was the coach and coordinator of the Paraguayan Beach Volleyball Development Project where he was able to develop players who had potential into successful athletes. He was also the Head Coach for the Qatar Beach National team when they placed 5th at the World Championships and not only qualified for their first ever Olympics, but also placed an impressive 9th place. This summer, he was the coach for Spain’s U18-U22 National Teams.
Rodrigo Gomes is a native of Rio de Janeiro Brazil, and played for the 3 time national champion Brigham Young University Men's Volleyball team. He began his volleyball training on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro with his father as his coach. Along with indoor volleyball, Gomes also built a successful career in beach volleyball winning the Rio de Janeiro State tour 6 times, and the Brazilian championship once. These titles lead him to become a member of the Brazilian junior national team, which allowed him to compete in the beach volleyball world championship in Catania, Italy. Rodrigo was also a member of a team that won the South-American championship in Montevideo Uruguay. Between the years 2003 and 2005, Rodrigo was ranked as one of the top professional beach volleyball players in Brazil.
Rodrigo has experience as the Director of Volleyball Training at TCA in Fountain Valley, CA, one of the top clubs in the nation. From 2007 to 2009 he served as an assistant coach for the BYU Men's volleyball team. He has also been one of the top performing camps and clinics director and coach for Gold Medal Squared over the past 10 years, training players and coaches across the U.S. Rodrigo arrived to NVVA in 2013 as a Technical Director and head coach of the 18 ICE Elite team. That year he was named NVVA's coach of the year. After a short period as technical director, Rodrigo was named NVVA's Executive Director and in 2016 he was named NVVA's President and CEO.
Amy is in her first year at NVVA and is currently the NVVA Programs Manager. She previously served as a the assistant coach for NCAA Division III University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point women's volleyball team for the 2018 and 2017 seasons. Amy was previously the head coach for the University of Minnesota Men's Club Team where they were ranked top 25 in the nation and achieved a 2015 NCVF Bronze National Championship.
Amy is a former libero who competed in the MIAC at Augsburg College in Minnesota. On the sand, Amy has competed professionally in the EVP tour and AVP Next events. She continues to train and compete in her spare time.
