For more than 20 years, Loudoun Youth Volleyball has been providing volleyball opportunities for girls and boys from elementary to high school ages.
Our program is one of the main pipelines for the high school program in the county with more than 20,000 athletes participating in our league. Our high school league has always provided an opportunity for players who don’t make their high school team, or who are not ready to commit to their high school program. To participate in the league, players register individually and after a skill assessment, are placed on a team with a similar skill level and within their geographic location.
This year our league will continue with our usual individual registration plan, however, we have now added an option for team registration in order to support our players from Loudoun County who won’t be able to compete with their high school this fall. With this option, a coach, a parent or any adult team representative of a high school program can register the whole team together for our league. During the registration process, the team representative will have the chance to choose between varsity and junior varsity levels. Each team representative can register multiple teams, across multiple levels, as long as there are spots available.
NVVA and LYV will provide teams registered with a gym to practice (either a local middle school or Virginia Volleyball Center), balls and all materials necessary to practice and play in the league. NVVA has been hosting camps throughout the summer, following all CDC and state guidelines, and we feel prepared to provide a safe environment for kids to practice and compete. Games and practices will follow social distance guidelines including limited attendance by spectators, equipment sanitation protocols, health questionnaires and temperature check of all participants. Each team registration will have to provide at least one adult head coach and signed code of conduct, as well as waivers by each participant.
